Darah Ghanem is a Palestinian photographer, journalist, producer and multi-disciplinary artist based in the UAE. Darah is passionate about documentary projects, archiving as a form of storytelling, and challenging narratives about the Middle East, Africa and Latin America through writing, audio, photography and visual research. Her most recent project titled "Break the Cycle" is an audio documentary about menstruation in the Arab world.
She is also the founder of a digital arts zine by name of follow the halo (www.followthehalo.com) and Middle East Archive Project, a digital platform that crowd-sources family archives from the MENA. She is the curator of The Digital Daftar, an online traveling sketchbook. Darah's work has been featured in outlets like VICE Arabia, Girlgaze, Elle USA among others. She holds an MSc in Sociology and Social Anthropology from the University of Bath, UK.
